2016 Free March Madness Picks – 3 Free Picks in Big East, Big 12 and ACC Tournament Action 3/10/16

(BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals)Seton Hall -1.5 over Creighton – The Seton Hall Pirates have been one of the biggest surprises in the Big East this season as they went 22-8 overall including 12-6 in Big East play to finish 3rd in the conference. The Pirates are clearly in the NCAA Tournament but they want more and have the talent to make a run in this 2016 Big East Tournament. The Pirates are ranked 34th in the RPI and have 4 wins over RPI Top 50 teams and have proved they can play against the best teams in the nation. Seton Hall faces a Creighton Blue Jays team that’s 18-13 overall and has no shot at making the NCAA Tournament unless they win the Big East Tournament. That’s not happening. These two schools split the regular season series with each team winning on the road but tonight’s game will prove who’s the better team and that’s clearly Seton Hall. This -1.5 spread is a joke and Seton Hall will win and cover.

(BIG 12 Tournament Quarterfinals)West Virginia -14.5 over TCU – This game has blowout city written all over it as West Virginia already blew out TCU 73-42 at home 4 weeks ago on February 13th and swept the season series as they won 95-87 at TCU on January 4th. The Mountaineers are 24-7 overall and have plans on making big time noise this month in the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Tournament and we don’t see TCU giving them much trouble at all tonight. TCU is 12-20 overall and just 4-16 in their last 20 games. The Horned Frogs are terrible and this game tonight should and will get real ugly early. Lay the -14.5 points with head coach Bob Huggins’ and his Mountaineers as this game should be a 20 plus point woodshed beating.

(ACC Tournament Quarterfinals)Virginia Tech +9.5 over Miami-Fl – The Virginia Tech Hokies are one of the hottest teams in the nation right now as they’ve won their last 6 games including a 77-62 win at home over Miami-Fl 5 days ago on march 5th. The Hokies are now 19-13 overall and a couple more wins should sneak them into the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team if they don’t win the ACC Tournament. Of course, that’s asking a lot and we don’t think they will win tonight’s game against an outstanding 24-6 Hurricanes team but we do feel the spread on this game is too high considering the way Virginia Tech is playing and the confidence that they are bringing onto the court tonight. This is a revenge game for Miami-Fl so they will be plenty motivated but we simply feel Virginia Tech will make this a barn burner and give the Canes all they can handle. Take the +9.5 points and look for the Hokies to keep this game in single digits all night.
