Vegas odds for sunday’s 2010 Women’s Final Four semifinals matchups in San Antonio, TX are now posted on NSAwins.com and vegas oddsmakers have made Uconn a -24.5 point favorite versus Baylor and Stanford a -13 point favorite versus Oklahoma. The Uconn women will be looking to win back-to-back National Championships and the 7th in school history. They will also be looking to move closer to UCLA’s men basketball team’s all-time basketball record of 88 wins a row by extending their 76-0 run to 78 games if they can cut down the nets in San Antonio and bring back another title to Storrs, CT. Head coach Geno Auriemma’s #1 seeded Huskies(37-0) have dominated the women landscape the past two seasons and rolled thru the Dayton Regional by blowing out #16 seed Southern U(95-39), #8 seed Temple(90-36), #4 seed Iowa St(74-36) and #3 seed Florida St(90-50). Uconn’s opponent sunday night, Baylor(27-9), will need to bring it’s “A” game to have a shot at covering the spread sunday – nevermind pulling off the unthinkable and winning outright. Baylor punched it’s ticket to the Final Four by winning the Memphis Region as a #4 seed behind the sensational play of 6-foot-8 freshman dunking sensation Brittney Griner. The Lady Bears shocked #1 seed Tennessee(77-62) in the Lady Vols’ own state in the Sweet 16 round and then survived 51-48 versus #2 seed Duke in the Elite 8. Sunday’s other women’s Final Four matchup will be the #1 seeded Stanford Cardinal versus the #3 seeded Oklahoma Sooners. Stanford(35-1) made it’s 3rd straight Final Four by winning the Sacramento Region with a 55-53 win versus #3 seed Xavier in the regional final. Stanford rolled thru the 1st 3 rounds by beating #16 seed UC Riverside(79-47), #8 seed Iowa(96-67) and #5 seed Georgia(73-36). Stanford’s last two losses both have come against the Uconn women, as they lost in the Final Four last season and dropped a 80-68 game on the road this season that Stanford led by two at halftime. Oklahoma(27-10) made the Final Four for the 2nd straight season by winning the Kansas City region. The Lady Sooners beat #14 seed South Dakota St(68-57), #11 seed Arkansas Little Rock(60-44), #2 seed Notre Dame(77-72 in OT) and #4 seed Kentucky(88-68). Oklahoma also lost to Uconn this season, as they lost 76-60 at home in mid-February despite leading in the 2nd half before the Lady Huskies took over defensively and won going away. NSAwins.com’s expert handicapper Gerry “BIG CAT” Andino likes the Uconn women to dominate the Final Four semis against Baylor and then win the title handily over Stanford in the National Championship game.
