2011 AdvoCare 500 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway: NASCAR betting odds to win the 2011 AdvoCare 500 this Sunday, September 4th at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia have been posted at all the major Las Vegas and best online sportsbooks with Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch having been installed as the +800 favorites to win the 2011 AdvoCare 500.
High speeds, three-wide racing, and lead changes are just a few of the things Atlanta Motor Speedway has become famous for over the years. With just two races remaining before the playoffs begin, there will be a healthy dose of all three this Sunday night. Tony Stewart is clinging to the final spot in the Chase, but three drivers are within striking distance if “Smoke” has a bad night.
Last March, Kasey Kahne and Kurt Busch took turns out front, combining to lead 273 of the 341 laps. Kahne actually led a race-high 144 laps, but a slow pit stop late in the race would prove costly. Busch had been better on short runs all afternoon anyway, and while Kahne worked his way through traffic, Busch built an insurmountable lead and cruised to his third career win at AMS. Meanwhile, Kahne had to settle for a fourth-place finish.
In the fall race, an early duel between Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin was cut short when Hamlin lost an engine and was forced to the garage. Stewart took command from there, leading 176 of the 325 laps and holding off Carl Edwards for his third career win at Atlanta. After leading 74 laps early in the race, Hamlin ended up dead last.
The Favorites – 2011 AdvoCare 500 Lines and Odds
The closer the playoffs get, the better Jimmie Johnson becomes. The five-time champ is gearing up for another title run, and he already has three career wins at Atlanta. His 10.4 average finish at the track is the third best among active drivers, and last fall, Johnson finished third. He should be in the mix for the win this weekend and just about every weekend for the rest of the year.
He hasn’t been bulletproof, but there is no denying Carl Edwards’ ability to get to Victory Lane at Atlanta. In 13 career starts, he has three wins and seven finishes of third or better. After finishing second at the track last fall, Edwards will be looking to close the deal Sunday night.
Forget about what Brad Keselowski has done in the past at Atlanta. He is currently riding a hot streak of epic proportions, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Keselowski has four straight finishes of third or better in the races leading up to Atlanta, including a pair of wins. Why bet against him at this point?
The Dark Horses – 2011 AdvoCare 500 Betting Odds and Free Tips
He is still looking for a win at Atlanta, but Matt Kenseth is no stranger to running well at the track. He has finished in the top 15 in 11 straight starts at the track, picking up six top-five finishes during the stretch. Kenseth finished second at AMS last March, and it seems like only a matter of time before he finally cashes in.
It has been a quiet year for Kasey Kahne, but Atlanta is just the track where he could make some noise. He has six top-five finishes in 13 career starts, including a pair of wins. Kahne has finished seventh or better in three of his last four starts at AMS, and Sunday’s race is probably his best chance at getting a win before the 2011 season ends.

With first-time winners becoming a popular trend in 2011, A.J. Allmendinger has to have his eye on joining the club. In six career starts at Atlanta, he has finished as high as sixth and has never finished outside the top 20. Not to mention the fact that he drives for the same Richard Petty Motorsports organization that helped Kasey Kahne win a couple of races at the 1.5-mile track.
Allmendinger’s teammate Marcos Ambrose could pull an upset Sunday as well. In addition to the equipment factor, he has already shown he can finish in the top five at 1.5-mile tracks in 2011. Ambrose has finished 11th and 10th in his last two starts at Atlanta, and he could be in for bigger and better things in his first start at the track for RPM.
Big Names to Avoid – 2011 AdvoCare 500 Vegas Odds and Free Picks
Even the best drivers struggle at certain tracks, and Atlanta is one of those tracks for Denny Hamlin. In 11 career starts, he has just three top-10 finishes and only one top-five run. At least up to this point, Hamlin doesn’t have the 1.5-mile track figured out.
In 12 starts at Atlanta, Martin Truex Jr. has never finished inside the top five. For that matter, he only has two top 10s. He also has six finishes outside the top 25. Plain and simple, Truex Jr. struggles at AMS.
