The other program given better than +1000 odds is Houston. The Cougars lost in last year’s Elite Eight and made the Final Four the year prior. At +900, Houston is the class of the American Athletic Conference and it will not be a surprise if they are a No. 1 seed come tournament time.
The other early favorite in the mix is last year’s runner-up, North Carolina. The Tar Heels actually held a 15-point halftime lead in last year’s championship game. Kansas, of course, came back to win, denying Tar Heels head coach Hubert Davis a national title in his first season. North Carolina was a +1200 early favorite.

The Longshot Market
In analyzing 2022-23 NCAAB odds, it pays to look for some solid longshots. We’ll discuss more of why it makes sense later. For now, know that Creighton returns the majority of its roster from a team that won 23 games last season.
The Bluejays advanced to the Sweet Sixteen last year before losing to Gonzaga. Creighton is given +2500 odds to win it all this season.
Another quality longshot candidate is Indiana, which has one of the best players in the nation. Trayce Jackson-Davis decided to return to the Hoosiers instead of opting for the NBA. He’s a big reason why Indiana is listed at +3500 to win March Madness.
It pays to look at NHL longshots too. Some of the same reasons as to why an NCAAB team is a longshot are why betting on NHL underdogs is a winner.
