The preseason AP Poll for College Football was officially released yesterday and the Florida Gators are the #1 ranked team in the nation in the eyes of the media. The Gators are the defending national champions and are also the #1 ranked team in the Preseason College Football USA Today Poll and the favorite according to vegas oddsmakers to win the 2010 BCS National Championship(see 2010 Odds to Win BCS Championship). The Gators received 58 of the 60 total 1st place votes in the AP Poll released yesterday and 1498 points total. The #2 ranked team in the preseason AP Poll is Mack Brown’s Texas Longhorns, who received the other 2 1st place votes and garnered 1424 points total. Rounding out the Top 5 in the initial AP Poll for the 2009 College Football season are #3 Oklahoma, #4 USC, and #5 Alabama.
