Arizona Wildcats at Stanford Cardinals 2010 NCAAF Week 10 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Arizona Wildcats at Stanford Cardinals 2010 NCAAF Week 10 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Bob Stoops and his No. 13 Arizona Wildcats travel to take on Pac 10 opponent the No. 8 Standford Cardinals on Saturday night at 8:00 PM ET at Stanford Stadium on ABC.  The Wildcats and Cardinals are tied for 2nd place in the Pac 10 behind Oregon at 7-1,4-1 and both are looking for a win to keep the Rose Bowl hopes alive.  It’s an offense against defense game as the Cardinals are 5th in the FBS averaging 42+ points per game and the Wildcats are 7th in the country in scoring defense allowing just 14.4 points per game.  Stanford is led by quarterback Andrew Luck who was talked about early in the season as a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy but with Auburn and Oregon undefeated their star players are now leading the discussions.  “Let’s open up the Heisman discussion a little bit,” Cardinal head football coach Jim Harbaugh said. “This Andrew Luck is a great, great football player.”  Vegas odds makers have the Stanford Cardinals a -8 point favorite at home against the Arizona Wildcats.

The Cardinals blew out Washington on the road 41-0 to move to 4-3 against the spread for the season.  Quarterback Andrew Luck completed 19 of 26 passes for 192 yards a touchdown and a pick as well as 5 carries for 92 yards and another score.  Running back Stepfan Taylor carried the ball 20 times for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the ground game.  “This defense is more talented than what we have shown the past couple of weeks,” Stanford linebacker Shayne Skov said. “We made it extra motivation to get back on track and show the Pac-10 that this defense is a force.”  Vegas odds makers have Andrew Luck at +4500 odds to win the Heisman Trophy.

Arizona is coming off a 29-21 win on the road at UCLA moving them to 3-4 against the spread for the season.  Quarterback Matt Scott filled in for injured starter Nick Foles by completing 24 of 36 passes for 319 yards a touchdown and a pick while rushing 12 times for another 71 yards.  Running back Keola Antolin carried the ball 23 times for 111 yards and a 2 yard touchdown run.  “I thought we played relatively well if you take out a couple of plays defensively,” coach Mike Stoops said. “Besides that, we had pretty good control of the game.”  The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Arizona’s last 6 games when playing Stanford and Arizona is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games when playing Stanford.  Odds makers at Bodog have the over/under for the total score at 56 1/2 points combined of the Arizona Wildcats and Stanford Cardinals.

I predict a Stanford win at home.
