National Sports Advisors FBS College Football Power Top 25 Week 7 Rankings: Read em and weep, I predicted an Alabama upset and sure enough the South Carolina Gamecocks took down the then No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide 35-21 last Saturday ending the sting of unbeaten games by Nick Saban’s team and quarterback Greg McElroy’s starts dating back to 8th grade. It also opens up the SEC to a bunch of different scenarios that weren’t expected, not only this loss but the Florida Gators were beaten 33-29 by the LSU Tigers giving them 2 conference defeats while LSU and Auburn remain the lone undefeated SEC teams. Then No. 13 Arizona was upset at home by Oregon State boosting Boise States credible wins and then No. 11 Michigan was defeated at home by in state rival the Michigan State Spartans with head football coach Mike Dantonio in the press box watching his team remain perfect on the season. Vegas odds makers have the Michigan State Spartans +2000 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.

There are a few games that peak my interest this week that will shape next week’s Power 25 starting with the SEC showdown with the No. 15 Arkansas Razorbacks traveling to play the No. 8 undefeated Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon. The Big 10 has several key matchups but I’ll be watching the No. 17 Michigan Wolverines hosting the Iowa Hawkeyes at the Big House in Ann Arbor to see how they bounce back from their loss to the Spartans. Also in the Big 10 the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison to take on the No. 18 Wisconsin Badgers as we’ll see how OSU handles the No. 1 ranking. And finally the Big 12 boasts an unusually unranked Texas Longhorns going on the road to Lincoln to play No. 5 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Vegas odds makers have the Nebraska Cornhuskers a -9 1/2 point favorite at home against the Texas Longhorns.
