Time to close out the College Football regular season strong today and get ready to dominate the bowl season. Let’s get it on! THE PIGSKIN GUY’S College Football Free Picks for Saturday 12/5/09
Pittsburgh +2.5 – I’ve been saying it for the last few weeks and I believe it. Pittsburgh will beat Cincinnati today. Call me crazy, but I truly feel Pittsburgh is the better football team when it brings it’s “A” game. Forget the loss last week at West Virginia. Sure, it was a rivalry game that Pitt wanted to win, but they had to have been looking ahead to today’s showdown for the BIG EAST title and BCS berth. Look for Pitt’s defense to contain Cincinnati and for Pitt’s ground game on offense to be the difference.
Alabama +5.5 – As Keith Jackson would say, Whoa Nellie we got ourselves a BIG ONE today! What a game this will be. The two best teams in the country battling it out in a winner take all for the SEC title and a BCS championship game berth. Florida still has Meyer and Tebow but Alabama is an improved club from last season’s unit that lost to a better Florida team than this year’s Florida unit and I look for Bama to get their revenge.
California -6.5 – Cal has had two weeks to prepare, get healthy and forget about the HUGE Stanford win and get focused on closing the season strong with a big win at Washington. Cal is 5-1 in it’s last 6 games, while Washington is just 2-6 in it’s last 8 games with one of those wins coming last week against an awful Washington St team. Cal will lay the wood today.

Tennessee +7 – Indy continues to fall behind only to come storming back and pull out games by a TD or less in the 4th quarter. Sooner or later that way of doing things is going to end up in the LOSS column. I look for the red hot Titans to be able to run the ball strong behind the dynamic Chris Johnson sunday and for Vince Young to add another notch in his belt with the upset win. Take the points.
Houston Pk – Two mediocre teams battling it out sunday to somehow stay in contention for a AFC wildcard berth. Houston will be seeking revenge for a loss at home earlier this season to Jax and I look for the Texans to snap a 3 game skid.
Kansas City +5 – The Chiefs got blown out again last week against the Chargers but had been playing good ball before that loss. The Donkeys come to town feeling better after beating a SOFT Gmen squad on Thanksgiving night but will have their hands full against a gritty Chiefs team on the road. Look for this one to be a close one with either team winning by a field goal late.
Miami +4.5 – The season is literally on the line sunday for the Dolphins at 5-6. A loss to New England will absolutely put any dreams of making the playoffs in 2009 to rest. It is a MUST WIN game for Miami and they will pull out all the stops. New England is just 1-4 on the road and have struggled in Miami for decades. The fish will get it done.
San Diego -13.5 – The Chargers are rolling and nothing leads me to believe the Brownies will be able to put any kind of stop to it. The Chargers will POUND the Brownies by at least 3 TDs.

Green Bay -3(Monday Night) – Big game for both teams but I got to ride with a Green Bay team that I feel is a little bit better on both sides of the ball than a Baltimore team that struggled to beat a Pittsburgh team at home with a rookie QB at the controls.
