2020 NFL Mock Draft: Updated Top 10 Picks

2020 NFL Mock Draft – Updated Top 10 Picks: The 2019 NFL regular season is officially in the books, and we now know how the top of the 2020 NFL Draft will look. The Cincinnati Bengals hold the No. 1 pick, and with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins picking up a couple of wins down the stretch, the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions leapfrogged them to shuffle up the rest of the top five. Late season collapses also allowed teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns to end up picking inside the top 10.

1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Personally, I’m not 100 percent sold on Burrow, but the Bengals have to try to find a franchise quarterback, and all signs point to the them making the Heisman Trophy winner the No. 1 pick. He’s shattering records on a weekly basis, and while he may not have the strongest arm in the draft, it is impossible to argue with his accuracy and production.

2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State

While some of the other bottom feeders picked up a win or two down the stretch, the Redskins stayed committed to losing. Their prize will be the most dominant pass-rusher in the draft. Young is a terror off the edge and has the potential to immediately transform Washington’s defense.

3. Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State

I could see the Lions shopping this pick to any quarterback-needy team looking to jump ahead of Miami and Los Angeles, but if they stay put, Okudah makes a lot of sense. He’s the best defensive back prospect in this draft, and he has the size and athleticism to be a legitimate shutdown corner in today’s pass-happy NFL.

4. New York Giants: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia

The Giants are another team that may look to trade down, but Thomas addresses arguably their biggest need. After securing an elite running back and a potential franchise quarterback over the last two drafts, the next step of the rebuild should be adding an anchor at left tackle. Thomas’ size and athleticism give him the highest upside of any lineman in this draft.

5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Despite a hip injury that will keep him out of the mix to be the No. 1 pick, I don’t see him sliding past the Dolphins, who still haven’t had a franchise quarterback since Dan Marino. They should sprint to the podium to grab the mobile, precision-passing lefty at No. 5.

6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

It has been an unexpectedly disastrous year for the Chargers, but landing the No. 6 pick and a franchise-caliber QB isn’t a terrible consolation prize. Herbert can be inconsistent, but he’s an underrated athlete with the arm to make every throw in the book.

7. Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn

I won’t call him Aaron Donald, but Brown is one of the rare interior linemen who does more than just move the pile at the point of attack. With a quick first step and elite athleticism for his size, Brown has a chance to be a real be a game-wrecker for a Carolian defense that has lost a little bite the last couple of years.

8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa

While this may be a slight reach, the Cardinals absolutely have to upgrade their offensive line if Kliff Kingsbury’s offense is going to have a legitimate chance to show if it can be special in the NFL. Wirfs is a mauler, and he can play inside or outside depending on what else the Cardinals to in the draft and free agency.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Isaiah Simmons, LB/S, Clemson

What better way to help replace Jalen Ramsey than with arguably the most versatile defensive playmaker in the draft? Simmons is a tackling machine in space, and he has the size and speed to be an every-down, impact defender.

10. Cleveland Browns: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama

The Browns have plenty of talent on their roster, but the offensive line could use a boost. Wills is particularly nasty in the run game, which should allow Nick Chubb to become the unquestioned driving force of the offense and take a little pressure off Baker Mayfield.
